Patricia Lang, Associate

Patricia (Pat) Lang has joined Promeus as an Associate and provides her expertise and knowledge to searches in the college sector.

Pat is a nationally recognized post-secondary education leader who has worked in progressively responsible positions spanning forty years at five colleges in Quebec and Ontario. She retired in 2011 after seven years as Vice President Academic and Student Services at Georgian College, and eleven years as President of Confederation College.

Pat is recognized as a creative, innovative and visionary leader who is committed to student success, academic quality and integrity. She has a strong track record of building community capacity and deepening an understanding of Canadian /Aboriginal relationships. She brings expertise in policy governance, strategic planning, advocacy and fundraising.

On a national level, Pat has coordinated and taught National Executive Leadership Institute programs for aspiring presidents and the Leadership Development Institute for aspiring Deans on behalf of the Association of Canadian Community Colleges.

In 1998, Pat won the Dean’s award at Central Michigan University for outstanding achievement and contributions to community college education in Ontario. She was named an Influential Woman of Northwestern Ontario for 2004, and was recognized as one of Canada’s top 25 Canadians in 2009 by the Canadian Association of Retired Persons for making a difference in the lives of Canadians as they age. In 2011, she was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Ontario Minister of Training Colleges and Universities and a Distinguished Service Award from the Association of Canadian Community Colleges.

Pat holds a Bachelor of Nursing from the University of New Brunswick, a Master of Arts in Education from Central Michigan University and an Honourary Doctor of Letters from the University of New Brunswick. She is an Honourary Captain in the Royal Canadian Navy.
